Hi all…….

Me too Mike, alot of fun playing with it, but really need to keep chugging away to get the results I want. Have Fun!!!

This is my first experience with any 3D modeling program. I love it. It is so cool to be able to rotate the image to any angle to view it.
A couple of quick questions.
1. What is the rule on how large an image can be demension wise andnbsp;to be posted in the Model forum.
2. What is the best size of JPG to use as a background. The ones I have tried are 600X600 and they are horrible. Not the programs fault I’m sure. There must be a specific size to use in order to get a quality snapshot.

Thanks. I’m sure I will have a lot more questions later on.

Mike

Hello Mike,
andnbsp;Everybody seems busy[ welcome to 3DC ] 80 kb on the picture size- don’t really know about the jpg. size to best use but some one else might.
andnbsp;KB

Thanks KB and Alan for your replies.I was aware of the 80KB limit on file size but on some other graphics forums they like to keep the image about 600 pixels wide. I will post some of the models I am working on in the Models forum. If there is a problem with the image demensions let me know.

Alan: The File/properties background image is the one I was refering to.Sorry for not making that clear. After a little experimenting, I found that the higher resolution jpgs are a lot more clear. Still have a bunch to learn.

Mike

Hi and welcome

1/ as KB has said the max picture you can post is 80k – although you could add a link to a website with a bigger picture if you wanted. (this would only be a link – ie we would need to click it to see your pic….)

2/ if this is for use as a backdrop for your model when it is rendered there is another way – in file/properties you can choose a backgroung image, for some reason this is low quality in 3dc but works well for the rendered picture – but not if it is raytraced…. to add a background pic for raytracing I add a cube in the background and just paint the near face with my background pic <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>
