help!! Lost textures!

you have to have the textures in the same folder/area your .3dc document is. because it tries to find them but can’t. another thing you can do, this is what i do most of the time, because i have a huge texture library and there is no sense in copying and pasting needless copies of the smae texture all over the place.

load your scene, then click on the texture loader.

go and find your folder where your textures for that scene are. just click any random texture in that folder, it doesn’t matter you are just telling 3DC where to find your textures.

then go to the file tab in 3DC, and your
scene should be listed at the bottom because it was just opened, click you scene to reload it and the textures should be there.

I’ve been having trouble with smooth operation on a select couple of rows of faces, I can’t seem to find an operation on them that doesn’t lock up the program

last time I locked up, I loaded in compatibility mode (I have the latest video driver possible for my machine, don’t ask), when I brought it back up, all my textures are grey, not loading for some reason. The apply operations seem to still be there, and the textures are still in the library where I left them.

PLEASE tell me there is some sort of toggle or something, applying the textures to my model to hours. Why have all my textures come back grey when I reload the scene? How can I recover?

in addition, I tried removing the last operation successfully completed before I lost my textures, no help. When I select by materials, everything that is grey is selected, indicating the program is now treating all my previous textures as one material.

There is one exception I used one texture that came with the library, that texture shows up. The rest were added to the library from other folders.

Prior to reloading in compatibility mode, the program had no trouble finding my textures, regardless they were located in various places around my c: drive.

Will it help anything to copy the textures to the same folder the original textures that came with the program are found? Am I going to have to go back through selecting various areas, painting them, and re-texturig them?

and then… I turned off compatibility mode, normal shutdown, my textures returned.

Totally confused, but happier.
