for want of a better subject title, HELp 3DC 8
ok, I have 3 models ready for testing, and in them I have used the texturepath=….systemtextures in the RailsimX box.
Now if I export as IGS using the standard exporter, it exports fine but in railworks the models still looking for textures in the default folder i.e wagonTextures
now if I use the alt export again it exports fine, or seems to and Railworks will convert it fine, finds the textures in texturepath=….systemtextures etc but the models not all there or seems as if its not complete.
Any ideas please, getting very disheartened about now
I should add that a export using 3dc9.03 results in a clean export, but again railworks is looking for the textures in the default folder wagonTextures

Hi Peter,
The texturepath command doesn’t seem to work in version 8 and 9.
It only works in version 7, using Paul Gausden’s alternative exporter.
I used Paul Gausden’s sample wagon to test this.
You can download the wagon here.

This is the bottom of the IGS file exported with version 7 opened in a text editor.

The texture path for the primairynumbers is correct here.
This is the bottom of the IGS file exported with version 8 opened in a text editor.

The texture path for the primairynumbers is not correct here.
The texturepath command seems to be ignored here.
This is the bottom of the IGS file exported with version 9 opened in a text editor.
[code:2tfv10kf] 1_1000_primarydigits_5 P_ H5 €? €? €? ‘ y?DiÀ €?€5 Texture name table , . $ texturessecr1680 texturessecr1680 textures [/code:2tfv10kf]
The primairy number textures are not exported at all here.
So this must be a bug.

Gerrit

Just open it in Notepad.
At the bottom is the texture name table.

Yes, but look at the bottom of the file.
There is in readable text, the texture name table.
