apologies for bringing this back to the top again, but I found this to be an excellent ‘phone cord’ solution (remember phone cords?), maybe help out another newcomer like myself.

copy to TEXT file, as rtf adds code to the front and returns aren’t registered correctly, move to amabilis sctipts folder, rename with .CS extension, restart 3DC.
and THANK YOU GEO_! There IS a spoon!

this would be usefull, I still andnbsp;resort to using right angles when what I really want is a bend, since andquot;bendandquot; doesn’t do whatI need.

I’ve been using a much less sophisticated script than Geo_Jenner’s to do simple piping and handrails, I wish I had his and Paul_Gausden’s scripting knowledge.
I did ship Paul_Gausden a copy of my script a while back for his amusement (it being a real hack of a script).
Attached is a shot of some simple andquot;elbowsandquot; made with the script. If there is interest I will try to do a more rational, structured, and useful version.

Howdy
Someone was taling about handrails when I started writing this script many moons ago. andnbsp;Don’t know if anyone’s interested, but it’s a script that extrudes an arbitrary face along a given function.
So far I’ve only done a corkscrew for testing, as I can’t remember why I wrote it. andnbsp;Debugged a bit when reminded by a thread in Beginners forum.
If this is useful, hail me and I’ll try to make the code look like it wasn’t written by my pigeon.

Someone on the train-sim.com forums recently asked about how to make a spiral to use as a phone chord in a cab view – I’ll try and point him your way…
I was doing a handrail plugin, but have since re-started it, then got too busy to finish it.

@deanville:
It’s a pity that elbow doesn’t seem to work with the new 6.0 release. Could you possibly upgrade your very useful script?

Haynes44,
I’m glad you find it useful!
I don’t have 6.0 here yet, not sure I’ll be using 6.0 until it is at least beta.
I have no problem though with one of the usual script gurus (Geo_Jenner, PaulGausden, etc) giving a fix a try. Otherwise it’ll have to wait till I screw up enough courage to switch.

this might be the end all in making a spring, assuming you know the math. i’m pretty literate, but do you know of a place that has a large visual selection of functions? and is it 5.7 friendly. thanks
