Flare extrude operation quit working

I would just build it again, starting with a smaller cylinder.
It is only 2 flare extrude operations.

Avoid object subtraction, it can add lots of unwanted points.

Alternatively, if you need to remove the centre cylinder, select the faces of the cylinder and delete them.

Am trying to make domes for a 0-6-2T but can’t get the ‘Flare Extrude Operation’- to work. Was working OK for a while, while experimenting with different settings. but now it only extends the length of the cylinder. Have tried different values, have reinstalled the flare extrude .dll, have redownloaded and reinstalled the .dll, but can’t get anything but a length extension of the cylinder. Haven’t reinstalled 3DC but guess I will if necessary.

Am using Win XP Home, 3DC Pro 6.6.1.0, and Flare6.dll dated 0/30/2004.

Any help appreciated, Bill

Bill – What are the default values you have set for the operation

(right click on the operation button)

They should be something like:
0.5
0.5
3
90.0

Paul,
Thanks for saving me AGAIN. Guess my default values were out of range.

One quick question while I have your attention. How is the best way to reduce the diameter of the section of the cylinder between the top and bottom flares of steam and sand domes? I have been removing this section by’-object subtraction’- and replacing it with a section of slightly smaller diameter cylinder. Is this as good a way as any?

Thanks again, Bill
