Exporting Searchlight to TS

Well that’s a bummer. I can make static light cones like street lamps and such. Well…it would have been nice. Another item that I hope MSTS2 will improve on…I hope. Thanks for the answer.

I made a small beacon type model with a rotating arm that has 2 different lights on each end. One red, the other yellow. I made textures and animated the model. The hierarchy is working because the animation works in the sim, but…I set 2 search lights on each end of the arm and made sure they were pointing in the right direction (away from the model). In animation mode, the search lights turn with the arm as it is supposed to. Once I export it in the sim and activate the animation…all works except the search light effect of red and yellow light moving around isn’t appearing at all…especially in the dark. I have tried several ways to help fix this. No good. I know I am missing something. Question: Does one need to make a ‘cone’ that is alpha’ed from the searchling outward? Like I said: The light animation works in 3DC, but in the sim. Thanks for any help my way.

Unfortunately MSTS does not allow lights for static scenery items.
Wagons and locos only.

The only thing you can do is adjust the texture of the ‘light’ so it glows in the dark (but does not shed light on other objects)
