Export Coach

Hi Pasquale
I have finally managed to get a number of freight cars exported to RailSimulator. I have also exported a small track speeder but I had to use the sample diesel blueprints to get it to work.
Problem is now since I upgraded to the MK1 upgrade,any railvehicles I have exported the wheels wont rotate…I like this simulator but it sure tries ones patience…..

I have created a model of Italian coach. I export it in IGS, as do I do to export the coach for Rail Rimulator?

Nice model.

You will have to rename the objects, according to the Dev Docs. E.G. the object you call ‘coach’ needs to be renamed ‘1_0000_coach’ if you only have one LOD model that can be seen at any distance.

(unless Richards exporter renames objects automatically)

Not sure Ian, but I have a feeling that those naming conventions may be specifically for the Max Lod exporter.
So far, I’ve been able to export things without sticking to that naming convention (except track). That may change when Richard introduces Lod exporting for Railsim.

With 3DC it is possible to merge all objects of a group?

Yes, you could merge them, but I wouldn’t recommend it. If you decide to make changes in the future it makes things very difficult.

And no, you don’t need to stick to the naming convention of the documentation. I’m changing the names on export.

Unfortunately I don’t succeed in exporting my model with ‘asset editor.’ After having copied the files in the directory C:ProgrammiRail SimulatorSourceDeveloperAddonRailVehiclesPassenger

2. Wagon Bluprint
3. Preview

I have imported this wagon in de editor only as a scenery object when I do this as freight wagon i see nothing..
Also I dont find my project I de Route editor??

Your freight wagon is very beautiful compliments.

Nice textures…like all the folds and creases.
Is this all hand drawn?

I was able to load your model as a wagon object. It could be that there was a bug in the previous version of the exporter that caused the problem. I’d recommend getting the new version of 3DC, and re-exporting. Perhaps with a new name. That forces the asset editor to rebuild things.

As an aside, I’d recommend removing the 1_0000 from the groups. First, it’s not correct, but also, I add that when I export the file.
