Hello,
I put this in this section, because it could be an ATI driver problem (not a 3DC bug)… to be confirmed.
Today, with 3DC 7.0.1.2 (Catalyst 6.10), I woke the PC from hibernation and I couldn’t start 3DC until I restarted Windows XP.
Before going into hibernation, 3DC was used and closed.
I had the following popups:
3 times ‘Unable to initialize Direct3D…’
and then ‘Unable to configure DirectX. Please ensure that the most recent version of directX is installed, …’
In the 3DC log file, there is :
09/04/2007 | 16:49:40 | Direct3D Initialized
09/04/2007 | 16:50:14 | Error #: -2147221503 Error Description: Unable to Configure DirectX. Please ensure that the most recent version of DirectX is installed, and that your graphics card drivers are up to date. Error Location:
Now that Windows is restarted, 3DC starts properly.

I think it is because graphics card memory wasn’t released properly. It could be a 3DC bug. I’ll be looking at this in the next while on a semi-related issue.
