I assume you mean the text object building tool.
Just double click on the text object and edit the text at the bottom and save.

I am learning 3DC and plsn to use it to create moving charts and graphs. I plan to use a lot of text in the process. I would like to to create a text model with the size and properties needed and then copy it, and change the text for the various data points I need. How can I edit the text in an existing text model?
