divide faces operation

I probably won’t implement an unequal divide soon because there is a relatively easy way to do this already. Here is an example how:

1) Drag and drop a cube
2) Divide an edge along the top of the cube
3) Divide the edge opposite this edge on the top of the cube.
4) Select the two new points you created and click the andquot;Create Edgeandquot; operation.

The only negative about this is that you can’t do this to a large number of faces all at once.

I don’t know the difficulty involved, but it would be nice if the divide operation could only divide along only one axis at a time rather than two. andnbsp; For instance, I use it when creating a roof on a building that starts ou as a box. andnbsp;I then raise the center to create a peak, but the other divisions are unnecessary.

I agree that it would be nice, but I also do not know the logistics involved in implementing this.

You may already be doing this, but you do know that you can use the trim operation to remove the extra edges and points, right? andnbsp; It’s a little bit more work, but it can save on the poly count and frame rate if you’re designing a model for a game, so it can be pretty important.

Oooooh, good tip! I think I actually [i:2dy67xlx]almost[/i:2dy67xlx] thought of that one time, but then forgot about it when I actually needed it. Thanks Richard!
