While waiting for the new license, I downloaded and installed the free version to see how it looks like. I also received the message about the installation being unable to update a file protected by Windows but it did not seem to impact on the installation. (My OS is XP Service Pack 3 and is fully up to date so I do not know what additional up-grading is needed).
More seriously, I have also experienced the creeping upward movement of the title bar to the extent that it disappeared off the screen and there was no way that I could retrieve it other than doing a CTRL-Alt-Delete and closing the programme from the task manager.
I was also concerned at the small size of the texture selection window which will make it very difficult to select small areas of texture. Can some means of zooming in on small areas be included in this window? As this was the free version, I was unable to test the UV mapping or re-mapping functions. But again I would hope that a greater zooming range could be provided for the re-mapping function as I always found that this was the weakest part of 3DC.
