Combine two triangles into one rectangle?

There is a de-triangulate operation button which may help.

Also – have a look at this:

I used GMAX to create my content for Auran Trainz. If I export my content to DirectX 3D mesh files using MSFS game pack, Middleman, and MDLCommander, and import the files into 3DC Pro 7.0.4.2, the objects are made from triangles. For example, a wall is made from two triangles, not one rectangle. If I use the ‘Fill’ tool in the Edit Toolbar on the right side of the screen, no problem but I can’t tile the material. If I use the ‘Face Painting’ tool, I can only paint one triangle at a time. Any suggestions?

All models have the faces triangulated on export…there isn’t really any way around this.
The only file format I know of that doesn’t triangulate faces is (Wavefront).obj.

You should be able to scale the texture after you apply it with the Fill tool…just click the Operation adjust tool in the right hand toolbar after you apply the texture.
The use the Scale, Move, Rotate Gizmo at the bottom right of the screen to make adjustements.

You can also use the Apply Material to Selection operation in the same way…select the faces you want then click the Apply material to selection operation, then click the Adjust Operation tool as above
