Gold is good, but I really like the other texture better. Maybe because I have a Chess set with pretty much the same texture.

I like them, esp. the knight. I think this texture helps to show the detail much better

A big improvement…finding the right texture for the model is the key I think.
If it’s to ‘busy’ you tend to loose the detail in the model.
