Character

Alex:
I do have to agree whith Vulcan_Foundry
I dont mind but there was not a very nice way to say what you thoght about my model. By the way it was made from a ‘manga’ scetch that I found on the internet and it was not even well done.

By the way, Richard:
What has happened to the home site? I have been trying to use the site from many computers but it dont seem that it works at all. Wat has happened

I spent many hours on this one, actually not many hours but many days, so I hope you like it. Good or bad comments welcome

A headless female I presume. Looks nice. Have you tried a boned animation yet? I find this helps, you get a better idea of how things are coming along. From the screen shot I would say the shoulders look a bit square and the legs a bit thin but this could just be the camera angle.

Looks like Everything is in the right place… will you be finishing this?

Bazza:
No I haven’t tried a ‘bone animation’ yet and thanks for the tips.

Polybuilder:
Yes hopefully if I’ll get the time.

Bjorn,

the hands and feet are horrible, but it seems to me that the body is not so bad. I could give you more specific suggestions if you show a solid-outline rendering of the model. The topology of the geometry is the most important thing when you have to model for animation.

The pose is completely wrong though. You will not be able to skin the character with that pose, especially in 3DC where vertex assignment is very limited. You need to spread the arms and legs of the character to be able to skin it for animation.

Out of line with some of those comments Alex.

Sure its a feedback forum, but you are not helping people nor promoting a nurturing atmosphere by firstly calling parts of their model ‘Horrible’. Sure it needs some work, but what model doesn’t when you examine the fine detail ?
Reading your replies to mine I gather that English is not your native tongue and for that you can be forgiven. I am sure we all want more people posting on the forums and using 3DC for their creations, but this will only happen with positive help and comments in order to build confidence to do so.
I do not have a problem with you. I’m just asking that you be more tolerant with comments that can be perceived as being too negative.
Have a nice day. <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>
