If I unpin the properties window, I don’t know how to see it again.
I believe that, when unpinned, this window can be increased in size, for example, to see all the material attributes in one glance.

It’s just a matter of hovering near the edge where the properties window slid into.
In 8.0.0.1 I made the target a bit bigger so it is easier to find.
If you want the properties window to be disconnected from 3DC, you can just drag it to a new location. Unfortunately, it won’t be sizable. It’s still a tool style window. You will get a bit more vertical shown, but not any more width.
All of this is going to need some refining over 8.0. I’m happy with it, but maybe it needs some ctrl keys or something similar.
