Hi Paul,
You may not like what I’m going to say but…, I read this timex thing a dozen times over and haven’t got a clue what MSTS is or what it has to do with Trainz. The references and comparisons are of no help to me at all if I don’t know what they are referenced or compared too.
In other words, I’m still lost and am asking for Trainz support.
No offence attended here in any way and it appears that you have written a fine ‘tutorial’ although it makes very little sence to me.
Sincerely,

Hi all,
I’d like to create some rolling stock for Trainz.
Is there a way to add attachment points for the trucks and smoke effects in 3DC Pro?
Thanks,

Hi Rick,
I suggest you read Paul’s ‘timex.htm’ file which can be found in the 3DC ‘plugins’ folder.
Also, Trainz C.C.G. has some more pointers.
Cheers, Fender <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>

There is a plugin that adds points on models.
The basic idea is that you need groups named a.xxxx that must be children of the main group
The exporter ignores any geometry they contain and uses the group axis as the attachment point.
Also, if you use the naming convention from the train sim engineer plugin it will automatically add bogie attachment points when you export using the correct options.

I’m having troubles getting my car on the tracks.
I’ve searched my whole PC for, ‘timex.htm’, and it doesn’t show up anywhere.
Any additional help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

Oh, gosh. I’m a little embarrassed. I even replied to the fact that you have posted it there, although I hadn’t DLed it yet. [img:2rx0vn1j]http://community.groupee.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif’%20alt=’Roll%20Eyes’%20width=’15’%20height=’15[/img:2rx0vn1j]
Sorry…
Thanks, again, Paul.

No worries – my memory is a bit like a sieve these days, old age is creeping up on me.
