add rectangular plane

Yes, thanks for that! – and yes, there are a lot of things like this, that are not obvious to a beginner ..

I’ll go try to use it ^_^

a rectangular plane added to the primitives would help..its a pain to make one from a cube every time you need one.
thanks, pirate

There is a MakeFace (?) function in both the plugins and the scripts. However, I find it a lot easier to just make a cube, select all faces, unselect the one I want to keep and then just delete the rest. It can be done faster than I just described it.

i tried this and it does work pretty good but most other 3d modellers have a plane in their primitives, even milkshape has one and it only costs $25..if your in the middle of working on a very good model the last thing you want to be doing is chopping up a cube just to make a plane when you could just drag it onto the screen. dragging is a lot easier and faster..its the little things that save time especially if your married and work for a living.
thanks for your input, pirate

Just use the Create Face plugin

Bazza,

Just the type of good suggestion that could be useful for a basic tool tutorial for beginners. Many things that are not obvious to beginners seem to be bigger obstacles than they really are. Create Face is a great example of what can be done to extend 3DC via a plugin. Thank you for posting this.

Charles

yea bazaa, the create face works pretty good.. i think i can live with it..thanks for your help buddy, pirate
