The normal can point any which way. Doesn’t matter. When I do this, I just create a single normal pointing Z=1 and use it for all faces/points. Then, when I am done I GenerateNormals.
If you want to set the normal yourself, the normal should point away from the face.

Can the dummy normal set up prior to creating a face be in any direction, or must it point correctly?
A similar question for AddPointAndNormal.
Or, can GenerateNormals be used to create correct ones after faces and points have been associated?
If I’m modeling in single-sided mode what is the convention for the nomal direction? Is face point order used?
