8.25 New Error-3DO import (resolved)

Well, I was just finishing a project with 8.2.5 before updating to the latest version, when i got a error message.
I have my main model open and import a 3do file which has the underside brake detail parts etc in it.
I get the strange import window as per picture below……..
I then save and all seems well, however when I try to reload the project I get a error message and the project just will not load.
Anyone got this sort of problem and know a way around it.
I have saved the log and such.

just as an addition to the above, if I import the 3do file into a empty scene and then save it as a 3dc file. I get the very same crash/errors. However during the import I [u:k5qg2c1a]do not [/u:k5qg2c1a]get the slanted import options screen as per the picture above.

If I import, then Ctrl A select all the parts and place in the components area, I can then drag the parts back to my current model fine.

I wonder if the 3DO file should in fact be saving the camera and scene parts, could this be the error, 2 cameras, which could be in the same place? once imported.

Also noticed that altho the import options screen says centred, the 3do file does not in fact load centred….

Can I have a copy of the 3DO file, to try to reproduce the bug with? (<!– e –>support2@amabilis.com<!– e –>)

Oh, and if you have a broken 3DC file from this, you could send that and I can try to fix the actual file, and send it back to you.

have sent the files.
It is easy to reproduce, starta new scene, drop in a simple cube..
export as a 3DO file.
Now export the 3DO file back in to the scene. It will load, but it will not be centred, it will not even be in the same place as the cube you have there already.

Now save the scene as a 3DC file. Hit new and try to open the 3DC file again. You will get an error message. And 3DC closes.
Now when you restart 3DC you will get the message about the crash/unsaved file etc recovery. If you click yes, you will again get an error.

Should there be two cameras? I note that you can not delete the second camera, nor can you delete the second scene etc from the Scene Hierarchy list in properties.

You’re right. That was easy to reproduce. Thanks.

I "think" you are right about the cameras. 3DC is exporting the whole scene, which is not right. It should not be exporting the camera. There can’t be more than one in a scene.

I have this fixed for the next release.

was you able to workout why the 3DO import did not centre as it should as well??
Or was this also because it had the camera

I think I have the centering fixed also.
