8.1.6 – Moving an object rescaled from feet to meters (Res

This problem is resolved in build 1382. Thank you.

3DC 8.1.6 is set up in meters with a 40m x 40m grid. I open a model created in feet and the model is skewed to the right and forward of the grid center (x=20, z=20). I re-scale the model to meters, select the ‘main’ group properties and under position, set x=20, z=20 to center the model to the grid. Instead of centering the model to the the grid, the model is moved even further to the right and forward of the grid center. Doing this in 7.1.2, using the same model, centers the model to the grid.

Is it possible that the grid origin in 8.1 is different than your grid origin in 7.1? That would produce different results between the two.

The x,y,z origins are set to 0 in both versions. However, when I first open the model (before rescaling or moving), in 7.1.2, the coordinates of ‘main’ are x=50.01,y=-.0003,z=50.173.
In 8.1.6, the coordinates of ‘main’ are x=0,y=-.6147,z=0, although the actual position is probably the same as the coordinates in 7.1.2
