[BLOCKQUOTE class=’ip-ubbcode-quote’][div class=’ip-ubbcode-quote-title’]quote:[/div][div class=’ip-ubbcode-quote-content’] I believe it resolves the issue. [/div][/BLOCKQUOTE]Yes. The error is gone. <!– s8-) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cool.gif" alt="" title="Cool" /><!– s8-) –>
I have tested this version with one of my 7.12 objects and so far so good.
p.s.
I have found a new issue to report <!– s:P –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt="" title="Razz" /><!– s:P –>

Object converted from 7.12 PRO to 8.1.5 PRO.
It’s impossible to fill an new piece with a texture without a crash of the program.
I can choose a random texture or take one with the material sampling tool and the result is the same.
Now i’m really stuck with this object:
I can use the 7.12 exporter but it hasn’t the -2 mipmaps nor the custom slot for advanced shader. (i can edit them inside the GeoPcDx but… <!– s:roll: –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="" title="Rolling Eyes" /><!– s:roll: –>
I can’t use decapod exporter because it says error 9 everytime.
I’m still waiting to know which are the limits of this exporter <!– s:D –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Very Happy" /><!– s:D –>
I can use the 8.1.5 exporter.. it has the -2 mipmaps but it hasn’t the railsimX custom parameter slot and i can’t add new pieces to my object.

This problem is back… I know the problem pretty well. It is caused by my having Visual Studio 2005 installed on my computer. I’ll have to think of a solution. I suggest going back to version 8.1.3 if you can.
BTW, does this happen with a new scene?

1 cube.. 1 tex from the texture library.. fill tool… crash.
Update – reverted back to the 8.1.3 – same problem.

I’ll have to think of when I installed Visual Studio 2005. It’s very likely the cause.

Can you try something for me? Can you do the same procedure you mentioned and instead of using the fill tool, use the material operation?

I’m thinking that even though this is likely a ‘dll version’ issue, I need to find a solution. I can’t uninstall Visual Studio 2005 since I’m using it.

Apply material to selection – andgt; error runtime ‘0’ – the left pannel became full of //// and with a click in the middle of the scene -andgt;

I don’t think this will make any difference, but can you try resetting the 3DC settings via the Help menu?

I wonder if perhaps you will need to use ‘System Restore’ to get back to the time before you installed version 8.1.4/8.1.5.
Did you ever run 8.1.3 successfully in the past?

That can be a problem… system restore is the first thing i disable when i do a new install of windows <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>
My current install of XP is 3 years old, up to date and rock solid.

[/div][/BLOCKQUOTE]I have bought the code only 3 days ago to test the new RS/RW exporter and i have used it as free version only for 5 o 6 days to check the convertion of a dozen of my objects with small problem here and there.
For the moment i’ll go on with the 7.12 + Paul Gausden exporter + manual edit of Geopcdx files. I have found out the cause of the ‘out of range’ problem… it hates pieces done with 6.5 – 6.6 converted to 7.1 and some of my objects are full of old parts. <!– s:D –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Very Happy" /><!– s:D –>

Can you attach your log file from 8.1.3 (or 8.1.5) after an error occurs? I’d like to put out a new version that helps track down the cause of the error.

I’ve managed to isolate the problem to a relatively small area. One question. Was this using an operation, or the fill tool? I need the log file from using an operation if this wasn’t it.
