8.1.3-1337 RailSim Export Failure (Resolved for 8.1.4)

I don’t have Rail Simulator installed (my copy isn’t with me right now), but I think I have it corrected for the next release.

Just starting to use 8.1.3-1337 to export models to Rail Simulator. Export from 8.1.3 via the Train Wizard generates ‘The export of your project has failed…’ message with no igs output (but with converted texture).

Export from 8.1.3 via Paul’s exporter generates an igs but the generated model consists of only one poly.

I’ve mailed a zip of test files to amabilis support.

Edit: The tests above were with ‘standard lods’ selected in the exporters. The model exports correctly in 8.1.3 if ‘no lods’ are selected for the export. Also, a retest shows that 8.1.3 exports a ‘one poly’ model as well, along with the export failure message.

I don’t know about the Train Simulator Wizard, but Paul’s exporter probably requires you to right-click on a shape in the ‘root’ and choose ‘select hierarchy’. That’ a requirement for exporting in 3DC 8. Or you can just hold down ‘a’ and click on a shape in the root of what you want exported.

I’ll have a look at what you sent as soon as I can.
