This is a long standing bug in version 7.1. I forget the exact details that cause it, but the work around is what Vlado described. I think an uninstall-reinstall also corrects it.

Quick fix,
If you are brave enough to use the register-editor
Go to the key
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareVB and VBA Program Settings3DC 7Application
And find the entry.
XFView00UseAnimationCamera
It is a bit down the list.
Change this value from True to False. (This might be case sensitive, so watch the capital F)
