6.6.10 to 7.0.2.2 texture issues

Paul,

Sorry to tell you this, but it makes me scratch when I hear that.

If you compact or compress, how can you modify parts that takes hours and hours to create.

Removing the checkpoints create sometimes problems like loosing points and textures, thus modifying the shape to the point we must redo it from scratch.

I think that the Upgrader is not recovering all it should recover…

A point of view from a newcommer to the forum, but not a newcommer to 3DC.

After a long layoff from 3DC and modeling, I moved to 3DC 7.0.2.2 and find that some parts with previously assigned textures are missing texture completely or suffer severe UV mis-mapping.

These are complex models and would be a extreme amount of work to remap. Advice gladly accepted.

Apologies to those who needed updates to my original foundry and piper plugins and didn’t get them. Gratitude to Paul Gausden who put in extra work to recreate them for the community.

did you download and install the file upgrader add-in from the downloads page..it helped me save some of my models..

Yes, I had installed the upgrader add-in. The directory structures containing the model files, textures, and objects are in the same relationship as they were with 6.6.10. Same OS and computer, everything is as it was except the 3DC rev.

Is 6.6.10 viable alongside 7+?

I have seen similar problems with some models.

Compact/compress before opening in 7 sometimes helps, and removing the checkpoints can also fix problems on objects.

AFAIK, and 6.6 will work alongside 7

Thanks for the advice Paul, will try later today.

On reflection, I had un-installed 6.6.10 prior to installing 7.0.2.2, so things aren’t exactly the same…
