Hi Richard,
This is probably another one for Paul… When the Train Sim Engineer plug-in creates a wheel set – it no longer rotates the "Faces" of the wheel the 90 degree offset with the spokes… What this means – since we can’t "rotate" a texture – is that you must rotate each wheel 90 degrees in order to texture it – then rotate it back 90 degrees to put it back in place… This was broken in release 8 as it worked fine in 7…

I think that was more of a change to the way textures are applied in V8+ – I’m still only just getting to grips with 8
Quite a few of the plugins have bugs now, I suspect they’ll all need some major surgery when I get a chance.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for looking – totally understand – sir – no rush… I’m probably going to take a break from 3DC8 for a bit – as I am unable to animate my newest project and I can’t seem to create LOD’s to finish my older one… I keep running into road blocks – LOL – I miss 3DCanvas 7.1.2… Appreciate your time…

I have the source for this, so I can look into it. I just have to get it clear in my head what the exact problem is. I’ll play around with the Train Sim Engineer.

I just can’t figure this one out. I’ll need VERY specific instructions on how to reproduce the problem. Thanks.

Well… I’m planning to release tonight, so I was encouraging you to check your email.
I see the problem now. I’ll see what I can do.

Glad to hear it.
I kind of think this is a bug in 3DC rather than the Engineer. In fact I’m sure it has nothing to do with the Engineer plug-in.
I think I was trying to satisfy the ability to apply a texture entirely "upright", and perhaps messed up a useful feature. I’m keep looking at it, to see where I went wrong.

Ok, I decided to risk it, and change how 3DC handles texture application (and movement) when the view is rotated. This is GUARANTEED to make some people unhappy. But, I couldn’t think of another sensible way to deal with this particular issue.
So, in the next version (8.2.7), if you rotate the view, you can rotate the application of the texture application by 90 degrees.
