3DC not exporting S files as Unicode

I was still getting this intermittently, so I added a line to the batch file I use to compile my models that attempts to do the txt2uni operation on the file first. If the file is already unicode (most of the time) the operation just fails and it gets on with compiling it. I don’t even notice if it was unicode or not now.

I know this has cropped up before, but was there any answer? It seems to have just started happening to me. Everything was fine and I have not installed a new version of 3DC. I’ve even had a model that I was happily exporting suddenly start saving as text instead of unicode. If I go into the file and save as unicode it all works ok.

I did use TSUnpack and it seemed to be after this there was a problem, but that may be co-incidence. The train sim wizard is also not now working and can’t find MSTS. I know I have fixed this before by re-installing MSTS, but I don’t particularly want to do this again.

Any suggestions – has it been answered here already and I missed it?

Cheers

You may need to andquot;repairandquot; your MSTS install. It sounds like the registry entries for MSTS are corrupt.
