3DC Crash and now won’t load file

I’ve had the pro version for a year and a half and when I load a particular model and click it I get an error and it crashes. When I reload 3DC it recovers the model but when I click it I get the error and crash. So no option to export it in another format and reload since clicking on it brings the error.

Had an Unrecoverable error and when tried to reload file, 3DC takes for ever to load. It eventually does but all objects are not visible.
Select all the hierarchy shows them but even when I tick the Visible option, they disappear again. App takes ages to do anything as well.
Any ideas? I’d hate to lose all the work I did on this before the crash.( I had saved but this is the file that loads with these problems)

Hi Steve,
That sounds like something that happened to me oh about six months or so ago. I save often so that if I loose something, I only have lost maybe 5 -15 min. work. ***Steve, The following is what I would do… make copies of ALL of your designs. Put them in a different folder JUST SO you dont loose any thing. That said, I would find your key codes(if any), and delete and then re-install 3DC then re-enter any codes you might have. Afterwards, you will have to load each of your designs back in to 3dc. ***
Here’a trick someone told me: When you start a project, make 2 copies of your saves. This sounds like a lot of trouble at first. Example-A-0149am and Example-B-0202am. Then just alternate saves and include the time in that file name. You wont loose anything this way. When you are done just delete the oldest copy to gain back that space.
I hope this helps… Please, let me know either way.

… and it wouldn’t hurt to check your video drivers.

It might be possible to save the file by exporting to the ‘DirectX’ format and then re-importing.
