3DC and Windows XP

Just an initial finding, I’ll look further…

But windows XP professional doesn’t work well with 3DC on my computer. andnbsp;I have a Gateway P3 550 ATI rage on the machine I am currently trying. andnbsp;3DC runs great on winME, but only in compatibility mode on windows XP Professional.(Gold RTM)

I’ll try it on some other computers, but thought it might be useful…likely a hardware driver issue, though the drivers are all win2k drivers included with winXP and should be the newest available when Gold Code was given to Manufacturers.

Running 4.23 and it passed the compatibility tests on the 3rd time through, so I assume it’s just driver…but as noted above that is worrisome. andnbsp;

It gave an error…run time while running the compatibility tests the first time. andnbsp;DirectX is 8.1 andnbsp;Also while installing it had MANY files that it said were older and suggested keeping the new ones…(OS files?)

Don’t know if any of that is helpful…the computer is dual-booting with winME and 3DC runs great on that OS on the computer.
