3d text crashes my comp

whenever i try to insert a text object, my machine reboots.. only problem ive ever had. any ideas?

I know that in the past NVIDIA had problems with its XP drivers that resulted in reboots. I am not sure when they fixed them. It may be worthwhile trying the latest drivers. They could well fix the problem.

Is this Windows XP, 2000, 9x or Me? And what video card do you have in your computer?

Win Xp Pro, P4 2.2GHz, 64MB DDR NVifia GeForce3 Ti 500, 1GB RAM.

This is the only operation in any program I run that does anything like this, use several other 3d apps, video editing apps, etc.
