3D Canvas won’t start?

not sure why you would have that many entries to be honest,
Anyway, if you download CCleaner at <!– m –>http://www.piriform.com/<!– m –>
it has a good registry cleaner, and allows you to make a backup before doing anything.
click on the Registry button in CCleaner and scan for issues.

Thanks, I was able to delete the entries eventually. I installed a clean 3DC 8 and as soon as I click on the exe I get the dreaded ‘3DC has stopped working’. This is very frustrating not to be able to even start a program I have been using since version4. It seems win7x64, Nvidia graphics and 3DC cannot co-exist.

ok, I do not have win7, but is there some sort of compatible mode you can run 3DC in to see if it works.
I have a NVIDIA card, and have no issues. I am sure someone will have a solution as your really missing out on a great program that just keeps getting better.

I have finally got version 8 and 9 running again after creating a DEP exception as detailed in this thread –

Thanks to those who offered advice.

Windows 64, is really hit and miss. There are many that it works great on, and others where it doesn’t work at all. It’s a real mystery to me. I wonder if it matters which graphics card is in use.

Has anyone successfully run 3DC with a NVIDIA card on Win7 64?[/quote:25x6lppl]

I run plenty of applications on win xp x64, like photoshop cs5, lightwave 9.61 x64, groboto x64, terragen 2 x64, and world machine x64. I use a Geforce gtx460.

I’m running Windows 7 64 bit with an NVIDIA GeForce 960 GSO graphics card.
Haven’t had any problems running 3DC but I’m using an old version 7.1.2.0.

I’m also running Win 7 with an NVIDIA GT320 card, though still on v7.1.2

So is there any solution to this problem in sight?

Tried running 3DCrafter 8 and 9 freshly downloaded, but all they create is an exception message right on the splash screen. Tried various solutions suggested in some of the threads here, registering the VB dll file, running as admin (even though I am using an admin account anyway), turning UAC off, reinstalling both versions two times and seperately, cleaning the registry with CCleaner, still no result at all. All I see is "Windows encoutered a problem with this application blabla…". I had running the demo of version 7 about a year or so ago on the same system, is that still available somewhere?

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit SP1, ATI/AMD Radeon HD4870 (latest 11.9 drivers)

Hello Toldrabald,

In your windows log it is stated, that the fehlermodulname ( Error module-name ) is StackHash-5442.
A quick Google revealed that this is part of an error reporting software which you seem to be running.
I don’t think that this is a standard part of windows and I don’t believe that it is part of 3DCrafter.(Please correct me if I am wrong). I could not find it on my system. (Win7 64 bits pro )

You could try turning this software off and try again.

Gerrit

Ok, I’m sorry for posting the german error log, but good enough you understand it <!– s;) –><!– s;) –>
I have no idea what StackHash is or what this program does. In fact I did not know about before doing the same as you: putting the name into Google and see what comes out. So, no I don’t have any special programs running in background.

Maybe this link will help.

Worth the try, no result. Same error message as before <!– s:( –><!– s:( –> Added all 3 .exe files from the 3DC directory to the DEP exceptions, started as admin, "This programme encoutered a problem yadda yadda…"

And I just wanted to have some small buildings for Railworks… Guess I’ll try it with Blender, thanks for your efforts to help Gerrit, too bad 3DC won’t run on my pc.

There is a new version of 3DCrafter available. It won’t likely resolve the problem, but included in it are new diagnostics intended to find the cause of the failure.

The first thing to do is to try 3DCrafter 9.1.1. If it fails to run, contact me at <!– e –>support2@amabilis.com<!– e –> and we can work on trying to straighten out the cause.
