3D Canvas won’t start?

Hi,
I am running a Windows 7 64-bit PC. Every time I try to start 3D Canvas Pro demo, it says "Unexpected error; quitting". I can’t get anything out of it besides this! Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Samkm,

Which version are you running ??? I think 3DCrafter 825 should run on your OS – although I’m still using Vista and XP…

Scott

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate. I also admit to using an old version of 3DCrafter (or 3D Canvas Pro as it was then know…). I am using version 7.1.0. Is that the problem?
I use 7.1.0 because I find I can’t transfer my licence key to the newer versions. In addition, I find that the newer versions lack some of the features that my version has.

Hi, I am runninng windows 7 64 bit also and cannot get 3DCrafter to start at all, just flashes the splash screen for a second then disapears.
I have the license for version 8 pro but can’t get it to open. version 7.1.2 works fine on my system. any sugestions??
thanks

Morn’n Guys,

I had an email from Richard and he said he would be around again next week… He probably needs to address that…

Hi Samkm and Trackinspector,

Try running it as Administrator. ( Right click,"on the icon , "Run as Administrator" )
Or switch UAC ( User Account Control ) of.

Works for me.

I am having the same trouble. I click on the exe as administrator and it just gives me the ‘ 3D Canvas has stopped working’ message. I am running Win 7 64 bits as well. I have the same system on my laptop but 3DC 8 runs fine on that! There is no error message – just won’t get past the flash screen.

Thanks,
Michael

I am having the same problem. I just get "3D Canvas has stopped working" as soon as I click on the icon. It works fine on my laptop with ATI card but not on my desktop with Nvidia graphics. Both machines have win7 64 bit.

Windows 64, is really hit and miss. There are many that it works great on, and others where it doesn’t work at all. It’s a real mystery to me. I wonder if it matters which graphics card is in use.

Has anyone successfully run 3DC with a NVIDIA card on Win7 64?

Yes, I run Win 7 64 bits on a GTS250.

3D Crafter runs fine on this.

Just a couple of unrelated import/export issues to sort out.

Hi.

I purchased "DarkGAME Studio" from "The Game Creators", and they added "3D Crafter Special Edition" to the package. I’ve downloaded it and when I attempt to install it, it says that it is not compatible with my version of Windows. From the little research I’ve done, I would need a x64-bit version of "3D Crafter Special Edition" for Windows 7 Home Premium. I’ve already tryed contacting "The Game Creators" about this, and they said I should post about this on this website.
Is it possible to do anything about this?

I think that The Game Creators were initially providing an incorrect version. If you download the version from the download page here, it should work OK.

@admin,

Thank you. I never would have thought that it was free! This is awsome!

I still cannot install any version of 3DC 8 or 9. I uninstalled both versions but there are still over 1000 entries in the registry that refer to 3DCrafter. I used two programs to search and delete these entries in the registry but both programs say they cannot delete these items. I do not feel inclined to delete them one at a time in regedit. Maybe this is why I cannot get the program to run. Anyone have any clues as to why they cannot be deleted?
