Kuju Rail Simulator Export Plug-in Beta 1 Available

Not much info at the moment other than it will be similar to FSX.

However, I hope to have a lot more info next month.

Hi,
will a go out plug-in to export Locomotives for KRS?
Good day to everybody

Hi Paul, I’m very sorry to hear that you’ve not decided to take an active part in the development of plugins etc for KRS at this time. The point is, we need ya man ! I know KRS is not exactly what we’d all hoped for but I see some potential and if the bugs get ironed out pretty quickly, it could actually be pretty good. However I’m a watcher and not a driver so if I can’t import my own content to it, well it’s gonna be a bit of a damp squib for me. I just hope you manage to patch things up with the KRS guys (big corps are never easy to deal with) and that we can get on making great content for this potentially great sim. Of course my reasons for wanting this are pretty selfish as anyone can see through my shallow facade <!– s:P –><!– s:P –>

Luckily, RSDL has started to respond recently, hopefully the info Richard has now will help with the plugin.

I have not had anything to do with writing the plugin, but I may be able to help with the textures (new version of the familiar ACE format)
I’ll still be writing train sim plugins, just not specifically for RS.

The hobby is still the priority for me and I just see MSTS2 as the way forward.

Thank you for your plugin to export to Railsimulator. It works very well but I see nothing in Railsimulator.
So far I can see each file for objects, (example ‘scenerybuildings’)have 2 files : 1 file with the extension .GeoPCDx and one with a .bin extension.
I see no extension .igs.
Shall I wait for the ‘Professional DevToolPack for Rail Simulator’ to put my objets inside RailSimulator ?
Have you an idea ?
Thank you in advance for your answer.

The converter for IGS files will be in the developer tools.

Finally there is some progress to report.

I have the simulator and development tools. They arrived in the mail today.

I also received updated specs etc. from Kuju today.

Hopefully I won’t have any troubles from here on in. <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>

Very good news <!– s;) –><!– s;) –>

Be interested to know if there’s any news on how work on the exporter is progresing, Richard?

Cheers,
Kevin

I’m talking with Kuju about some problems I’m having with the export. It seems that getting the actual geometry export finished should be relatively simple. It’s 95% there. It’s just a matter of them debugging my file. I think they are working on it. I hope so.

Right now I am having trouble getting through to railsimulator.com to get ther released tools. It seems to me I should have been sent them ages ago… but maybe they simply weren’t done until now.

Thanks Richard, will look forward to trying it out when it’s finished.

Hope you had better luck then me in getting the dev-tools. I’ve only just managed to download a copy!

Cheers,
Kevin

I haven’t managed to get the developer tools yet. I don’t have Internet where I am so I have to find ‘hot spots’. I even got up super early, went to a ‘hot spot’ and tried to download and failed. I’m not going to do THAT again. I’ll just keep trying when I’m out and about and one day I’m sure I will get it. Or perhaps Kuju will provide me with a private link. Really, I should have been given them ages ago. I’m more than a little bit frustrated with it.

I also don’t like that they are charging commercial developers for the tools. I don’t think that applies to me fortunately, but I have to check with them to be sure.
