Bug Killing Quest (Version 4.24)

Well, it runs ok… But its REALLY slow. A lot slower than usual <!– s:( –><!– s:( –>.

My guess is that it isn’t running 3D accelerated. This is a problem that existed a while back with TNT. I worked around the problem, but had hoped that new drivers would fix it. A lot of new drivers have come out and it now runs accelerated on my Geforce2 MX with driver revisions 6.5, 12.41 and likely others (but only with 32 bit color).

Do you know what driver version you are on? Are you using NVIDIA drivers? Are you in 32 bit color mode? Have you tried dragging and dropping an primitive on to the scene?

Thanks for trying this out for me,

Richard

There is no read me file thats why i thought i better ask.

the website is here if anyone else has this card.

a chinese character set will be asked for download if you visit the site to read it correctly.

The site is in English tho and that confused me a little but its irrelevent to the problem at hand

Im sorry for asking for help on something thats probably very easy to fix.

Is there a usual procedure for this kind of thing.?

once again thanks for the input, I really do appreciate the advice <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>

Well, im using the latest drivers from the NVIDIA site, so im not sure what version those are. Yes, i am in 32 bit color, and I have tried it in 16 too. When i drag and drop a primitive into the scene, and move it around, It looks like its going at like 2 frames per second, so i geuss its not hardware accelerated. <!– s:( –><!– s:( –>

Simon

Simon,

A while back you mentioned that you had lost 3D acceleration. Did an update to your drivers correct the situation or is this 2 frames per second a new thing?

This is a tough one. IMO reliability for the general 3DC population requires the changes I made. I do know how to andquot;re-enableandquot; 3D acceleration for NVIDIA TNT cards but at the expense of everyone else.

I think what I will do is run out and get a TNT card and see if I can find some way to trick it into running accelerated.

Richard

Would it be possible to have a version that is for like TNT people, and one for everyone else? ;D <!– s;) –><!– s;) –>

Simon

Actually, no. I can’t support multiple versions. But, as I said I am trying to trick the TNT into running accelerated.

I went out and got a TNT2 M64 and found no problems at all (other than the bug in the drivers that don’t permit acceleration in 16 bit mode). It could be that it is only a TNT2 and earlier problem.

I’ll have a new version shortly that should re-enable acceleration for you.

Richard

Ok, andnbsp;good. Thank you very much!

Simon

Simon,

I have published a new version that I thing should work on your TNT:

Richard,

It still semms to be running slow andnbsp;:(. Do you think that maybe its because of my drivers? ??? If so, where could i find new ones? I think the manufacturer is Diamond.

Simon

Simon,

I have to get this straight. A while back you mentioned ([img:2ir8k6y1]http://www.amabilis.com/cgi-bin/YaBB/YaBB.cgi?board=3DCProGeneralandamp;action=displayandamp;num=999571709andamp;start=0[/img:2ir8k6y1]

) that 3DC started running slow on your system. Did you ever get it running fast again?

Richard

Nope, still havent got it running fast again.
