I’m having a small lighting problem now…
A cylinder seems to be smoothed around the sides (vertex normals averaged) and flat (vertex=face normal) on the ends
if I remove one end, I can’t seem to get the normals back to the original, even by just selecting the sides and smoothing and selecting the ends and creasing.
it appears to include the face on the end when averaging the side normals even when only the sides are selected for smoothing.
My current solution is to cut and paste the end face back on as a separate object, but it would be nice to keep it as one.
any thoughts?
