Hello,
Today I only used the material manager plugin and the export to KRS plugin.
I noticed that the save button was left greyed after each use of the material manager plugin.
When I reopened the model, all my changes were lost.
To keep the changes I need to do a 3DC operation before saving (for example, set point position changing nothing or scaling a group of objects by 1.0).
Thanks in advance, Paul, for checking this problem.

This should fix the problem. It will now mark any updated objects as changed so the save should be enabled.

Hi Paul,
I need to add the environment and bump slots for several objects…
Would it please be possible to upgrade the plugin for that?

It is possible, but I’m away for a week so it may be a couple of weeks before I get around to it.

Here’s the new new material Manager <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt="
" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>
Now lets you look at objects with no custom fields by selecting one of the 4 material lighting properties.
You can now select and change any of the texture files.

Paul,
Once more thanks for the (quick !) upgrade.
Thanks to the Material manager, I was able to make some tests with specular layer and normal map layer.
The Material manager helped update part (so far) of my model.
It’s far from finished:
[img:37nm3rmf]http://img230.imageshack.us/my.php?image=image5co5.jpg[/img:37nm3rmf]
[img:37nm3rmf]http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/9310/image5co5.th.jpg[/img:37nm3rmf]
As the 3DC exporter has not been updated yet, manual updates need to be done in the GoePcDx file.
The upgraded 3DC exporter is needed to quickly set material attributes according to KRS requirements (different range of values, missing glossiness).
KRS uses Specular, Ambient, Diffuse (called Emissive in KRS) and… glossiness (called CUSTOMPARAM0 in KRS).
A future update of the plugin will be with the [b:37nm3rmf]glossiness[/b:37nm3rmf] when available in 3DC.
I noticed some interactions between the specular layer and normal map layer.
(Paul didn’t you write [img:37nm3rmf]http://amabilis.com/forumattachments/a/tpc/f/50410947331/m/87510229541?r=77410539541#77410539541[/img:37nm3rmf]

Hi there,
I have run the material manager plugin and it very good. I made a bit of a hash of my texture specular values and I was able to reset them before export. The resulting textures on the model look very good indeed even though I am not very good a texturing yet.
The only thing I did notice was that if I saved changes before coming out of 3DC. When I re-opened the file I would have to reset the textures again. Have I missed a something out.
An excellent plug in tool
and a finished model!!

Hi Paul,
I have one more request (the last one for this year, I promise): a button to automatically select the highlighted items.
Thanks again!

Hi Paul,
Since you helped me (over on UKTS) with material settings, I always use this great plug-in to check everything before exporting to KRS. However, like mickrik, I find my changes are not saved and have to be re-done when re-opening the file.
Can you please advise what we should do to retain the changes?

To make things stick you usually need to do one more operation before saving the model.
I’ll try and fix this soon but have quite a few plugins that need to be finished off.
Also – it may be worth checking you have the latest versions from [img:2o4xt5po]http://www31.brinkster.com/decapod[/img:2o4xt5po]

Hello Paul,
The plug-in started with custom fields selection, then you added the 4 material lighting properties.
I fill the need to select some other attributes: primary texture, bump map, specular map, environment map.
It would complete the plug-in selection tool.
If you could do something about this.. Thanks in advance.
