Even though my model is not ‘state of the art’ 3D modelling, [b:aj44mvyk]can’t I use my current model?[/b:aj44mvyk] as shown on the picture at the beginning of the subject ?[b:aj44mvyk] and remove the faces in excess ? Which ones ?[/b:aj44mvyk].
The model looks good apart from the selection problem and 2 faces where the texture cannot be tilted properly.

The 2 texturing problems are solved but the selection pb after texturing is still there (note : there is no more hole).

There still apears to be interior parts. If they aren’t separate objects they should be.
You can work-around the selection issue using the method I pointed to previously: [img:e401lkya]http://amabilis.com/forumattachments?a=tpcands=2396098374andf=4716078974andm=8136078974[/img:e401lkya]
Selecting the Hard to Select
Also, you can probably improve things by using the Repair Geometry operation. It may create triangles which can be mostly removed via the Consolidate operation.
And, yes your sketch about how to build was correct.
