When I was searching on my HD for the 3DC tutorials, I’ve find two .avi that I’ve made with 3DC some months ago.
Because are, at least, interesting, I’ve take it on-line. You can get it or see it at my site:

in the section andquot;3D Stuffandquot;.

Sorry, but I can’t write the direct links because 50megs.com doesn’t permit.

bye.

Hey ‘il,’ I get a username/password box when I try to download your zip files. I’m downloading the unzipped versions instead, but you might want to fix that.

Hey, I watched the animations — good job. I like the first one (old) more because it’s more believable and the camera movement is smoother.

This brings me to another point: a problem I always have in my animations (and that you seem to have as well) is that you can’t change direction on anything without it looking like crap. Transitions are really sudden between keyframes, and it’s gotten to the point that I don’t use more that two key frames for any object in an animation (origin and destination). Any more and it looks unprofessional.

I’ve brought this up before, but Richard, would it be possible to add a natural motion math operation to animation paths? I’ve seen other modelers/animators that advertise this. Something to smooth directional transitions between keyframes, like an inertia calculation. It would really open up what kinds of animations we can realistically do with 3DC.

Gary, the password request is very odd. I think is an undocumented feature of 50megs.com.
Seem that I must find another free web server without so many limitations. Any idea?

By the way this two animations was very old, in effect now I can make smoother animations but a more advanced control of the camera will be useful: for example the acceleration and deceleration.

bye.

Gary,

Probably one day there will be what your asking for. It is on the list. So many things, so little time.

Gary,

Have you tried using the andquot;Ghost Animationandquot;? It can be quite useful in getting animation paths correct.

Richard,

I tried it early on, but didn’t quite understand it — perhaps I’ll go back and take a second look.

Thanks,

Gary
