3DC 9.3 texture baking test

I’ve not really used the auto unwrap much before (shapeways models don’t need texturing)
But once I got the hang of unwrapping, baking became a doddle 🙂

It does tend to highlight problems faces on models…
Here’s my first attempt at part of a model soviet missile boat

Yeah. That’s about the result I got on a low-poly model. I don’t like POV-Ray’s implementation much.

I’m pinning my hopes on the upcoming free version of Pixar’s RenderMan. I think it will be available in August. I’m working with Aqsis in the mean time. I should mention that I’m “trying”. There are no guarantees I’ll succeed in providing texture baking via RenderMan.
