How do I upgrade to 3DCrafter 9?

3DCrafter 9 is a free upgrade for anyone who purchased either 3DCrafter Pro, 3DCrafter Plus, 3DCrafter Trainworks, or a version upgrade July 1st, 2010 or later. If you are entitled to a free upgrade, your license code for 3DCrafter 8 will also work with 3DCrafter 9. If you purchased before that date, or would like to upgrade from 3DCrafter Plus to 3DCrafter Pro 9.x, you can purchase an upgrade here for $34.95.

How do I access the train simulator features of 3DCrafter Pro?

The train simulator functions are disabled by default since they are not used by the majority of 3DCrafter Pro users. To enable these features:

• Select Options... from the Tools menu.
• Click the Misc. tab.
• Check Enable Trainworks Features
• Close and re-open 3DCrafter Pro

Note that when this feature is enabled an alternate "extras" download is available on the Help menu that includes sample models specifically for people modelling trains.

I have registered 3DCrafter Plus/Pro. Where do I enter the license code?

To enter your license code select Enter License Code from the Help menu. A window will then be displayed where you can enter your name and this license code. You need not enter your exact name, but the license code must be entered exactly as provided. Once you have entered this information, click OK. A download link will be added to the 3DCrafter Help menu where you can download the additional 3DCrafter Plus/Pro features.

I have registered 3DCrafter Plus/Pro. Where do I download the additional Plus/Pro features?

Starting with 3DCrafter 9, there is no need to download additional features. All features are enabled by entering your license code via the Help menu.

When I run 3DCrafter I get error message #429

This error can usually be resolved by uninstalling all versions of 3DCrafter or 3DC and re-installing.

When I am using 3DCrafter I often get error #91.

There are two likely resolutions to this problem:

•  Install Service Pack 6 for Microsoft's Visual Basic, which can be downloaded here.
  
  or
   
• Uninstall all versions of 3DCrafter and re-install.

When I install 3DCrafter I get error #1931.

This error can normally be ignored and 3DCrafter will install properly.

How do I print what I have made?

3DCrafter does not have any ability to print on its own, but you can use Microsoft Paint that comes with Windows to print 3DCrafter models.

There are two possible ways to print. You can print a "screen capture" created using the Windows "Print Screen" function, or you can use the 3DCrafter Animation Camera to take a "snapshot".

Method 1: Print Screen

1. When you see something you like, press the Alt and Print Screen keys on your keyboard (at the same time)
2. Open Microsoft Paint (or any other paint program you want to use)
3. From the Edit Menu select "Paste"
4. Select Print from the File Menu

Method 2: Snapshot

1. Right-Click on the 3DCrafter grid and select Camera->Animation
2. On the right hand side of the main (top) toolbar there is a button with a Camera icon. Click that button to record a snapshot to a file.
3. Open the file saved in the previous step with Microsoft Paint
4. Select Print from the File Menu

Is it possible to change something made with a Shape Building tool?

Yes. Simply double-click on the shape.

I have read this FAQ and I haven't found a solution to my problem. How do I receive technical support?

The primary avenue for technical support for the freeware version of 3DCrafter is through our discussion forums. Posting to the forums aids other users by making answers to common questions available immediately to all 3DCrafter users.
