Timo:

Well... Thats not what I had in mind, I want to make a game where your character gets to a higher level and makes your own weapons and stuff... like, Diablo. And as far as I know you can only make battle games and simulators in 3d Rad.

When you say cheap, how much is cheap?

When you say game maker, do you mean no programming involved?

The truth is all game makers are limited, you really sound like you want a programming language.

Why not take a look at Blitz3D www.blitzbasic.co.uk you can download a demo and see what can be done (Bear in mind as well that the demo is old and doesn't contain a lot of the newer features). It's about $100.

There is also DarkBasic www.darkbasicpro.com but while its feature list is more impressive, I've had lots of stability problems. I think this is also $99. Again there's a downloadable demo.

I think it is well worth the effort to learn how to program if you want to make games, there are no shortcuts.

Hi guys,
Does anyone have any info on DarkbasicPro's game engine stats? Like what size polycounts it will support? I couldn't locate the info on their website, probably overlooked it somewhere... :Smile
Would it be good for building a decent Space Flight Sim?

Les,
I dont know the limit but you should be ok to use if for your space flight sim (I've just got dbp but I prefer blitz3d (might be that I have done a bit more with blitz though)) there are demo versions of both programs - I suggest you try them both (or maybe try the site above to find another option)

You can make any type of game in 3D Rad! There are no limitations. Everything debends on how good programmer you are, as in every other engine.  Smile But if you want to have many online players, you should use some other engine. At least until the 3D Rad version 6  comes out...
