OK things have started and theyre looking quite swarve considering im not that good with textures (just got ones off the internet for now).

Firstly, made the table top by creating a cuboid with an arc edge and then extruded it so it would be easy to apply a texture round the edge. Then extruded it with a level of 0 so that i could raise it for the edges. Then extruded it one more time for the leather edge. Finally i flattened one of the straight edges for where the dealer sits.

For the legs I just created a semi-circular shape using the extrude tool and then just cloned and rotated it.

For the room itself i just used the usual trick of inverting a cube. However, i dont know anything about mapping of textures on faces and im trying to make this model as easily as possible so i made each face 3x3 so i can put textures on easily.

Note: on the image you will see a door floating in midair. Thats cos im going to put some stairs in.

For the chair i just used chamfered cuboids and then re-arranged them for the seat, backrest and arm rests, the feet are just cylinders

Looks interesting but if your just grabbbing textures from the internet these will seldom blend together to create a nice looking scene.

I had a quick go at a room with some wooden wall panels...the textures only took about an hour to create.

The textures are the only difference between my room and yours....it's just a flipped cube with some extrusions for the doorways.

Those look sweet. How did you do the panels? Did you just bevel them down and then bevel them up again?

Note: Im quite open to suggestions/comments etc. Keep them coming! Smile

The panels were created with Photoshop usng inner and outer bevels, pillow emboss and drop shadows.
You can do the same with PSP but the bevels feature isn't as good as Photoshop and I don't think it has a Pillow emboss.

Learning how to create these textures is the key to getting a good visual effect...you can have the best model in the world but if the textures are crap thats what it looks like.
Colours.....Using Reds,Greens,Orange, Yellows together will always work well together(all the autumn colors).
Blue is a very cold colour and it's hard to get this to blend into most scenes well...it only really goes well with pink, white and grey.

Made a bar for the background for a more 'poker den' feel. I originally wanted to make a posh looking pub style one but then realised it would look out of place so i went for a more simple modern looking one.

All i did was make a long strip with a little corner on it using the extrude tool, gave it some height and then did a 0 distance extrude on it so i could make it stick out at the front, then extruded that and finally textured it.
