Hi all

Just posting to let you all know, if you don't
already, that a new version of POV has been released.

The thing is now though that I've uninstalled
the older version to allow for the newer
version its not working through 3DCanvas any
more Confused

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
James

I had the same problem. The cure was to run POVRay and set the "Options->Script I/O Restrictions" to "No Restrictions". I also made sure that the "tips" were not being displayed.

Hi Richard, thanks for the reply.
I already had pov set to "No Restrictions" The same way I had the older version setup. I then
made sure the tips were not being displayed, but this didn't change anything.

Mmmm, It's hard to know what to do realy. I'm finding it hard to do any modeling lately, with the problems I'm having. Canvas still crashes when I hit the paint bucket just above the material palette Confused Every Thing else is ok - modeling, boning, skinning and animating all work great without crashing. And now Pov ain't working. Does it ever end Big Grin

Sorry, I completely missed your reply.

This is with 3DC 6.5.0.7? What video card is in your system and what version of Windows are you running?

That's ok richard. Smile

No, 3DC 6.5.0.5 is what i have and pov doesn't work with it, though it worked all along before.
I've got 3DC 6.6 too but pov doesn't work with that either. It's really since I upgraded pov a few weeks ago. Since then it hasn't worked.

I'm running win2000 and is videocard the same as graphics card? If so then I've a

nVIDIA TNT2 Model 64 with 32Mb Memory.
There's 260Mb of ram on my machine.

Thanks for your help Richard, I miss rendering my creations in 3DCanvas. There's also the paintbucket thing, where Canvas crashes if I select it?? (this happens with 6.6 only)I tried fixing/loking really, at things my self, but I don't want to break anything. Big Grin

Have you tried updating the driver for your graphics card? If not that could help with the paint bucket problem.

Does the paint bucket cause a crash with 6.6 also?

I'll have to keep thinking about POV. Does POV open when you render from 3DC?

Thanks for replying Richard

Do you really have to keep updating these thing all the time??? I don't have any problems wiyh this. It's just that.... what do people who have no net access do?

I think I've tried all these thing earlier on.
I suppose I'm gonna have to try everything to get things working. It usually is something simple isn't it.

I think I'll have to make things abit clearer.
Only 6.6 crashes when I select the PaintBucket.
The earlier version works ok, I could click on it a hundred times and it works. POV fails with 6.5.0.5 and 6.6.0.2. which means it does not open from within 3DCanvas. Thats it.

Thanks alot

James
