When I add a texture like wood on an object in           3D Canvas  and export it to pov ray it just gets "Error when opening bmp image" in pov ray. Doing the same process without texture works just fine.
Do you know what is wrong`???

 Try adding the texture to the "include " file in PovRay.
 Had  the same problem.

Yes that's it. When 3D Canvas renders with POVRay it does all of the POVRay setup required. But, when 3D Canvas exports a file to POVRay 3D Canvas cannot do the POVRay setup for you, only export to the right format.
