Before returning to building some more railway related models I thought I'd have a try at a Space Station to go with my latest space ship.
I'm not very good at designing these sort of things, I seem to have some kind of mental block, this is my third attempt at this one. Smile It's just about finished ...I need to do a bit more work on some of the textures.
The whole thing revolves around the central hub, very slowly.
I loaded all the seperate parts into Blitz after having created a lightmap in Gile[s] and then did the animations in Blitz.

To expose the Flight Deck.
This is the view from the deck, with the doors open.

But I really like this view from the dark side...it looks very sinister

I'd just like to wish you all a very happy Christmas and good wishes for the New Year.
Hope everyone got their stockings filled. Smile

You seem to be a man of many talents... Look's great... Seems this program has a great deal of flexibility...

Keep up the good work - sir...

Thanks Scott,

I like to take a break from trains now and again, Si-Fi allows me to dream up all sorts of wierd and wonderful things..and as they don't exist, no one can tell you they're wrong. Smile

Hi all...

Has anyone used this software to make a - top of the line - aircraft for FS2004 ??? You know like a 747 or something - with all the bells and whistles ??? I have not seen much mention of 3DC over on that side of the house... Maybe I am just missing it... Would this package have all the features necessary to compete with the best of those GMAX aircraft ???

Just curious...

Regards,
Scott

I don't use FS2004 but see no reason why 3DC shouldn't be able to produce a top quality aircraft.
Like MSTS you will have to work within the requirements of FS2004.

Why not make up a quick mock up in 3DC and see how it looks in FS2004.

If it doesn't work you could always load it into Blitz and write your own Flight Sim. Smile

Hey fellas,

Just my two cents, but if 3DC exports into DX files, can't they, in turn, be converted into the proper file format from one of the rendering programs?

Building a 747 shouldn't be real troublesome.

Richard.

Many thanks V_F.
"That other Richard...." has sent me a couple of his models, so I'm going to include these and try to re-create some scenes from the 2001 SPACE ODYSSEY film.
Then all I will need is the music..The Blue Danube I think.
