Well since tankemspankem is going the female route, I think I'll try the male route
Needs a lot of work, especially around the ears. Please feel free to tell me your thoughts. Oh, Can you turn smothing off or do you have to have it on all the time? Makes it hard to do work in tight areas like the eyes. On thing I have found helpful is senting the tranlucency to 30. Don't like working in wireframe mode. Maybe I'll get time to finish the body...course, then we're going to need some cloths 3D Canvis Rocks! BUST.jpg (42 Kb, 140 downloads) bust |

Very good effort. Did you create the bust by using subdivision or surface modelling ? Either way a very good job.
As far as changing the 'smoothing' of your model, are you referring to auto-smoothing or how its rendered within 3DC ? I'm guessing that its the way its rendered. I would suggest you hit F4 which will render your model in solid outline making it much easier to see your facet edges. F2= Smooth Render F3=Flat Render F4=Solid Outline F5=Flat Wireframe F6=Wireframe F7=Points If you wish to turn off the 'auto-smoothing' then right click on your model, select properties and then move the smoothing level slider to the far left to reduce this effect. |

Looking good.
It has been mentioned in another post that a hotkey to turn sutosmooth on/off would be usefull - I am sure that Richard will add this (if it is not already there.... ?) If you are trying to choose a point but finding it difficult to select it - try selecting another point first then try holding ctrl and the first (required) point again and if it selects this time then ctrl click the non-required point to turn it off again. (if you choose a point, edge or face then use ctrl it locks 3dc into that type of selection and makes it easier to select others of this type ) I find working in the lowest auto smooth level with the solid outline mode (f4) - works best for me. There are 10 types of people on this world - those that understand binary and those who don't. |

All done useing subdivision. I was thinking about trying surface modeling to do a car. Course, finding the time is the problem...I should probably just try and finish this first
Thanks for the input and hints! |
