A while ago I asked Raul (Riverplate) if I could have the 3DC version of his superb 12H "LARREA" FCS loco.
I wanted to see what it looked like after Gile[s] had produced a lightmap.

I spent a very enjoyable couple of days re-applying the textures so I could manipulate them better in Gile[s]

Anyway here's the results. A really nice looking locomotive, I'm sure you'll agree.
It actually looks a lot better than this, but I lost quite a bit with the file compression.

But what is it doing on a British Great Western railway? Well, it's on a goodwill visit, all the way from Argentina. Smile
Isn't the internet just great.

Don't forget you can get the MSTS version from the Model download section.

Its just amazing the detail that Gile(s) seems to bring out from a model. The light mapping here just makes the scene sparkle with realism.

You must be very good at using Gile(s) Bazza, excellent work. Smile

Oh and Raul of course for providing an excellent subject for the scene.

Hi V_F and thanks.

This was a bit of Trans-Atlantic co-operation that worked out very well indeed.

I'm still not sure about the lighting I selected for the model in Gile{s}.

The locoshed scene uses my early 'morning lighting' setup. When I did the lightmap for Rauls loco I seem to have given it more of a late evening light, so I may have another shot at it sometime.

For comparison, if you take a look at my 'Even more steam' post. This blends in much better with the surrounding scenery.
I used the same lighting for the loco as I did for the scenery.

Hope you get your new computer sorted soon, it sounds like a nice choice.

Nice render - but I am still not sure about the arch texture Smile

I know, I KNOW. Big Grin

The only way I can think of, to do a good job, is to unwrap the arches.
I will get round to it one day. Smile
