Bjorn,

Let your imagination be your guide.... Smile  If you can imagine it, you can probably create it with 3D Canvas.

Have fun

Bjorn,
It seems that your boredom is actually inspiring you to be creative. The face looks great to me..... ;D It reminds me of one of those ancient trible masks, or maybe a party mask. The sink and faucet looks almost real. You could maybe add the drain, some shadows or different lighting to enhance the appearance of the inner bowl portion of the sink.

At any rate, you have taken a simple primitive object or two and turned them into your own pretty real looking creation. Thats a good start!  ;D

If you wanted to try something with lots of detail, you might think about cityscapes, landscapes, aircraft, automobiles, trains, and the list goes on and on.

It all starts from a single thought or inspiration, which by the way, could very possibly come from being bored.....hehe... ;D

Hi Bjorn....
well, I've got to be honest here....I downloaded my first version of 3DC a year ago, and you've made more models ( and very good quality starters I must say) than I have. :'( Dont feel like you must come up with complex or intricate objects, it's usually the quality of everyday objects that can be so amazing. You've already got the hang of doing things I can't. And I've been working on 3DC hard for awhile now. Just look at everything around you....it's amazing how difficult, and chalenging trying to make things that seem so simple can be. Try some of the challenges as well. I have a hard time just making a "sound" model much less having one at a finished point to post.  :P I'll be looking for more from you Bjorn, and I suspect as you work they will progress...... ;D

I like the sink and tap best of those lot.  Somehow I think the sink looks more real in the mirror though.  Much better then I could do

Give it time Athas. I felt the same way when I began. it just takes alot of playing and of course.. sometimes..some help. And everyone here is real good at helping. All you got to do is ask. Are you working through the tutorials?? They will really help you get started and learn how the functions work, and how to manipulate the screen.
. Are you working through the tutorials?? They will really help you get started and learn how the functions work, and how to manipulate the screen.
Yeah I'm sort of doing the tutorials but i'm putting my own slant on most of them Ie not doing exactly whats on the screen.  I find them great help though.

I've been trying some more then others also because I feel I understand some better then others.  Take the hollow extrude for example I haven't done this because I considered it common sense.

Good....alot of them are common sense, but the one thing that the tuts are really good for , is to get you familiar with all the ways to manipulate, shift, deform, and so on.... Canvas has such a huge array of attributes and manipulations, its good to check the tuts out to get used to some of the functions and basically how to work a project. ( this from me, who didnt even realize the autosmooth was even there....duh!! :P) Have fun all!
