When I spoke to Richard recently he said he hadn't seen many train sim models made using canvas.
Here's a couple I have been working on recently:

Nice work, I like to see WIP pics.

@Deanville
Super job, great texture set.
I must get around to building one of these sometime. You've got to hand it to the USA guys, they certainly know how to build great looking loco's.

Hi.

Nice work. One question from a new user of 3DC is how do you create the renders shown in the WIP pictures?

Thanks

Aidan

oooh that's really nice - I love those old locos. The wheels look like they are far too delicate to hold up wth weight.

No new pictures, I'm afraid as I haven't had any luck getting Povray to work with my latest install of Canvas, so these have all been seen before on various sites.

A couple of RailSimulator pictures :-

and a couple of renders :-

I made an audible "oooo" sound while reading this thread... very nice!

Btw, I am looking at POVRay to see what the problem is.

I had a small problem with the snapshot recording not working with POVray, in the end I exported the POV file and ran it there.

In the snapshot it gave me a message about not being able to find the textures on an un-textured model.

Isn't it nice to be able to work at this level of detail now. Some very nice work here. Now, how do I include a screenshot in my posts here?

Richard

As there are too many (very good looking) smoke generators here Smile Smile , I'm adding my model in progress:

(It looks to me that creating the pantograph animation won't be easy)

No smoke without fire Smile

Another rendering - this took about 5 hours to run!
