I've been building this on and off for a couple of months now..it's still very, very WIP...loads to do with the textures, everything looks far to clean.

I was going to build this into my Port Daniel station area somewhere but thought it wise to get things working in a scene of it's own first.
So I decided to build a roundhouse thingie to test it out, I can use this scene in the future as some kind of international railway/railroad preservation museum theme.

The table itself still needs all it's fixtures and fittings and loads more to add to the buildings, still I'm pleased with it all so far.

Everything works much to my suprise, there are 18 tracks off the turntable including the approach track, 13 stalls and 4 spare tracks.
At the moment the table works from a keypress and the tracks line up perfectly. Big Grin

Anyone else built one of these, my knowledge of roundhouses is somewhat limited to say the least.

Very nice. When I read the title I was expecting a "turntable" for playing records.

In Canada I thought we call this a "roundhouse". But maybe we call the thing that turns the engines the turntable.

Thanks Richard, now that I've got the table and loco turning correctly I'll continue with the scene in 6.6.5.11...it seems to be a very stable version...thanks for all the hard work.

Excellant, hope in time I can do half as good. If you ever decide to release it, I would like to try it in R3D.

Thanks but if you take another look it's the textures that give the visual effect, the objects themselves are all very basic geometry, most are just extruded cubes.
R3D...????...don't know that one.
