Here is a nearly complete AC4400 running light at Bridger Junction in the Powder River Basin. It's close to 10K polys and I still need to wage the LOD wars...

This is looking great.
Will we be seeing it again with textures? Where do you get the plans from? I have a large model railroad in my loft/attic space so I think I must get round to trying to produce a US locomotive with 3DC. If I do get round to it and it looks half as good as this I will be very pleased. Bazza Mrs Bazza says "just keep taking the tablets dear, and everything will be OK" |

Thanks! Yes, you will be seeing it with textures. The plans are from Model Railroader but several changes were made to match the units used on the BNSF Powder River sub.
This model will be part of a major route released for the Microsoft Train Simulator. Check out http://www.digital-rails.com/tjl_info.html, all models in the finished route will be created with 3DC. Deanville |

This looks good - any chance of a wire frame view and some close-up shots please ?
As I still have not got around to msts.... What is a typical poly count for msts trains ? How much detail is texture - for example on this model are the springs texture or model ? Many thanks There are 10 types of people on this world - those that understand binary and those who don't. |
